NTC SmartClass Homeschool Conducts Outreach Program 2024
Quezon City, May 25, 2024 – The NTC SmartClass Homeschool, along with the Homeschoolers’ Support Council and the NTC Community Development Center, proudly announces the successful completion of its “Helping Without Limits” Outreach Program. The event, themed “Beyond Homeschooling: Sharing Stories, Building Communities,” took place at the Quezon City Library – Project 7 Branch and was a great success.
The program aimed to inspire a love for learning and reading among children. It provided educational support through donated books and school supplies from parents, students, and other donors in the NTC SmartClass Homeschool Program. These donations were given to 30 incoming Grade 4 students from public schools in Project 7, Quezon City.
The event began with an early morning meet-up and preparations, followed by the arrival of the beneficiaries. The program started with a welcome note from the Project 7 Barangay Captain and the QCPL Project 7 Head, who emphasized the importance of community and educational support.
NTC SmartClass Homeschool student leaders engaged the children with the following activities:
Storytelling Sessions: Engaging stories told by student leaders Lara Ysabella Faller and Lian Kaleigh Monsalud.
Quizzes and Games: Interactive and educational quizzes and games led by Aejan Therese Agbayani and Keia San Agustin.
Peer-to-Peer Reading Sessions: Encouraging children to read and share stories with their peers.
Snack Breaks: Providing refreshments and opportunities for informal interaction.
Gift-Giving Ceremony: Distributing school supplies and donated books to the students and Quezon City Library – Project 7.
Pre-Loved Books and School Supplies: Parents, students, and other donors contributed over 50 pre-loved books and various school supplies.
Hand-over Ceremony: These donations were formally handed over to the children and the Quezon City Library – Project 7, ensuring that the resources reached those in need.
The success of this outreach program was thanks to the NTC SmartClass Homeschool team, including Subject Matter Experts Mr. Matthew De Castro, Ms. Giselle Bandal, Mr. Phronesis Cabrera, and Mr. Jomar Antom, along with administrative members Ms. Jhanine Barateta, Ms. Divine Villafuerte, and Mr. Louie Lumangaya.
